1) Clearance Volume
2) Restricted passage and leakage at inlet valves
3) Speed of rotation
4) Piston ring leakages
5) If fresh air comes in contact with hot wall, it get expanded, which decreases the charge taken in therefore volumetric efficiency decreases.
